The Department Pharmaceutics is one of the core departments among four departments and was established with the establishment of Fabtech College of Pharmacy from academic session 2019-2020. It facilitates the academic and research requirements for students pursuing a four year bachelor of pharmacy degree course.Pharmaceutics is the branch of pharmacy which handles every aspect of converting a novel chemical entity (NCE) into a novel pharmaceutical product that is both safe and effective. The formulation of a pure medication ingredient into a dosage form is the focus of pharmaceutics. The Department is having two pharmaceutics laboratory with additional one machine room. All labs are well equipped with sophisticated and advanced instruments like Disintegration Test Apparatus,Monsanto Hardness Tester, Pfizer Hardness TesterUV-Visible spectro photometers, Brookfield Viscometer, Sonicator, Centrifuge, In vitro Dissolution apparatus, Fluidized Bed Dryer, High-Speed Homogenizer, etc.
The purpose of these labs is to give aspiring pharmacists hands-on experience and deep knowledge in Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Physical Pharmaceutics,Industrial Pharmacy subjects and Manufacturing Operations, Pre-formulation,
Screening Tests, Designing, Evaluation and Pharmacokinetic Study of solid, liquid, and semisolid dosage forms, including novel drug delivery Systems for nanoparticles, intranasal, trans mucosal, ocular, micro emulsions, nano suspension and so on. These systems reduce drug dosage and adverse reaction rates while promoting patient compliance.
